TV: ASIA's NEXT TOP MODEL

I’m crazy about ANTM (America’s Next Top Model) now on its 20^th CYCLE this year and still I cant get enough, that’s why I’m over excited with its close to home version the Asia’s Next Top Model in its very first cycle.

Held and produce in SINGAPORE, 14 aspiring Asian models compete for 100 SINGAPOREAN DOLLARS, a modeling contract with ASIA and UK agency, are some of the TOP prizes.

I’m a little late blogging about this so I’ll make a short rundown…

Let’s start with the JUDGES…

NADYA HUTAGALUNG (model, VJ and humanitarian serves as the HOST)

JOEY MEAD KING (model, VJ and humanitarian serves as the RESIDENT JUDGE and CHALLENGE coordinator)

TOD ANTHONY TYLER (model and RESIDENT PHOTOGRAPHER)

DANIEL BOEY (fashion expert and PHOTO coordinator)

WEEK ONE:

A QUIRKY photo shoot put these girls to the test that separate the models to their knowledge in FASHION being the theme is what the latest fashion commands.  KYLA TAN from SINGAPORE got the ax and HELENA CHAN from HONG KONG got the PHOTO OF THE WEEK.

WEEK TWO:

The girls were thrown on a GROUP SHOTS that make them blend with one another; the winning picture will be featured in a real HARPERS BAZAAR Asia magazine.  MONICA BENJARATJARUNUN from THAILAND got a bad news from home that make her backed out from the competition.  Unfortunately STEPHANIE RETUYA from PHILIPPINES and JEE CHOI from SOUTH KOREA were the bottom two, both of them were saved because of the contestant who backed out.  FIRST CALL and PHOTO OF THE WEEK goes to AASTHA POKHAREL from NEPAL.

WEEK THREE:

This time the girls are to portray the 12 zodiac sign, some of the girls perform and the other didn't  BEI SI LIU from CHINA got the ax this time and HELENA CHAN from HONG KONG got her second PHOTO OF THE WEEK.

WEEK FOUR:

The girls ask to do a sexy shoot with the very HOT male model JASON GODFREY portraying as a sexy boxer.  It’s a sad DOUBLE ELIMINATION and FILANTROPI WITOKO from INDONESIA and JEE CHOI from SOUTH KOREA got the ax.  SOFIA WAKABAYASHI from JAPAN got her very first PHOTO OF THE WEEK.

WEEK FIVE:

FRENCH RIVIERA was the theme for this weeks photo shoot and most of the girl got the theme, funny girl KATE MA from TAIWAN got the FIRST CALL / PHOTO OF THE WEEK and LOST IN TRANSLATION and CATWALK queen THUY TRANG NGUYEN from VIETNAM got the AX.

WEEK SIX:

BEAUTY SHOT is bound to happen as the girls this week pull their beauty forefront the camera, AASTHA POKHAREL from NEPAL won the best CHALLENGE prize an all expense paid trip to NEW YORK.  And it’s a hard BOTTOM TWO as best friend KATE MA from TAIWAN and RACHEL ERASMUS from INDIA were head to head to leave the competition, the later got the ax.  It’s the second FIRST CALL / PHOTO OF THE WEEK for SOPHIA WAKABAYASHI from JAPAN.

WEEK SEVEN:

LOVE for NATURE if the theme in this week round, the girls post with the nature and their photo will be bid for donation to WWF foundation.  JESSICA AMOURNKULDILOK from THAILAND got the teary FIRST CALL / PHOTO OF THE WEEK and the short but good student MELISSA THNG from MALAYSIA got the ax.

So far that’s what happen, later on I will blog on the following episodes, here are the six Asian girls who still on the running for Asia’s Next Top Model prize.  I think the first three on the top are the top contenders.
