MISS UNIVERSE 2012

I did my share pray, wake up early and tune in to watch the competition, it flows perfectly as I expected my bet my countries representative performs and make it to TOP 16 out of 89 beauties from around the world, she hang in there at the TOP 10 making it as the last call and finally the TOP 5 where he magnificently display that hideous blue gown (seriously with so many international designers the PHILIPPINES boast we let the 80’s do her gown).  And lastly the FINAL ANSWER, we continuously fall in this part except last year 2011 – SHAMCEY SUPSUP so I thought we have it in the bag when Janine answers it cleverly with poise and elegance.

This is what I thought would be the RESULT referring to their final answer and overall performance:

4^th Runner Up – MISS USA (she’s having a hard time strutting and almost trip and her answer is confusing did you or not regret fighting with your sibling, nonsense right?)

3^rd Runner Up – MISS VENEZUELA (even if her answer tank, I’m pretty sure she got the highest in swimsuit and that’s a factor if were talking about the overall performance, as what the host continuously remind the audience)

2^nd Runner Up – MISS AUSTRALIA (her answer is OK but not that powerful, her swimsuit and gown was OK as well)

1^st Runner Up – MISS BRAZIL (her answer was the second best, her gown was magnificent probably the best gown and her swimsuit was also good)

MISS UNIVERSE 2012 – MISS PHILIPPINES (her answer was a mile better than the others, it can even be used as MISS UNIVERSE mission or vision, she had the best walk in swimsuit and that hand together with the gown REGAL and CLASS, the audience love her)

I knew something was wrong when they called MISS BRAZIL first and the Armageddon continues, with the last two standing MISS USA and MISS PHILIPPINES I know the crown will slip from the rightful WINNER, and it does…

Well we can’t do anything about it, it’s a true showcase of POWER over the UNDERDOGS, too bad the UNDERDOGS have to wait for another year or possibly not another chance at all, we waste one good contestant for the CROWN (though our country is still grateful for the 1^st Runner-Up win, but all of you know we deserve better).

The winner is hailed and one country is rejoicing, but I know in those 1 BILLION viewers they brag watching the pageant, those 1 BILLION viewers know who the real winner is…

MOVIE: The HOBBITS (An Unexpected Journey)

Me and my sisters have this December holiday tradition before watching “The Lord of the Rings”, after the trilogy ended the tradition follows, gladly our journey to middle earth returns together with the custom as a new trilogy surfaces “The Hobbits”.

THE HOBBITS is a 1937 fantasy novel by J.R.R. Tolkiens, the same writer as THE LORD OF THE RINGS, it is set in MIDDLE-EARTH and follows the hobbit BILBO BAGGINS adventure with the 13 DWARVES lead by the prince THORIN OAKENSHIELD and the wizard GANDALF to re-claim their home the LONELY MOUNTAIN to the dragon SMAUG.

MANILA OCEAN PARK

Ever since MANILA OCEAN PARK opens in March 2008 I always wanted to visit and see the underwater like adventure this oceanarium offers, well four years pass I made it---it seems quite too long but I been busy with other things, LOL.

But finally making it I would say that the adventure is worth the wait, I love how fun this place is, ever get to wonder what it would feel like in the deep blue sea; this is probably as closer as it would be for me (I don’t know how to swim by the way, so I mean it).

The adventure started above water where we first witness the ALL STAR BIRD SHOW, a close encounter with the birds and their display of skills and knowledge, who would have thought birds could do math, if their not train I would say their better than me, LOL.

ADORE HIM: CHRIS EVANS

I just watch “What’s Your Number?” on DVD and yes its hilarious and highly recommended for a comedy movie, but other than its comedic approach there’s a sexy touch to it, one named CHRIS EVANS who is half naked in the best ¼ of the film, or I make it longer in my memories, LOL.

Just right to put him in my first ever post label “ADORE HIM”.

P.S.  Laughing s hard transferring this to my blog from the paper I wrote while eating my oatmeal, it isn’t that bad really its get better when you get used to it, later on you get to experiment making your breakfast oatmeal fun, like with me I just add cinnamon and molasses to make it taste and smell good, some people put raisins on it, fruits and dried fruits and when you want some crunch into it, nuts…

PACQUIAO and the FILIPINOS

Well apparently he lost in his fourth bout with Juan Miguel Marquez, and yes it’s an appalling knockdown.  It’s his second consecutive lost and people / fans and anti-fans are already suggesting his retirement.  But no matter what they say, WIN or LOSE --- I’m still a proud PACQUIAO fan, and another lost won’t make any difference.

Winners and champions alike do stumble and in Pacquiao’s case knockdown, but falling or literally falling face first on the boxing ring is a reality one must face in order to stand up and claim back victory.

So Pacquiao even if you loose today you’ll always be a winner in every Filipino’s heart.  Thank you for making our country the PHILIPPINES known all over the world by being the greatest boxer in the world.

One case scenario is when I had a trip to Bali, Indonesia, when I say I’m from the Philippines they don’t have any idea of the country I represent, but when they see my boyfriend wearing a Pacquiao shirt, they recognize the champion and my countrymen FILIPINO.

That’s the impact you make to the world making us Filipinos and our country Philippines known around the world.

Thanks Pacquiao, until your next victory…

On the first week of December which should have been the start of Christmas preparations, southern PHILIPPINES was devastated by the strong typhoon that took 548 lives and 827 still missing.

Lives already lost and we can’t do anything about it but we can do something to the living who at the moment in dire need of your help, their asking for food and medicine (most importantly), clean water and clothes.

MOVIE: Rise Of The Guardians

I and my good friend Gerard just watch this movie to kill time on our night appointment but surprisingly we both loved it.  Yes it’s intended for kids but kids at heart would love this as well.

TWITTERFLY EFFECT

I know its kinda silly but I have this habit of always replying to whoever sent me an email, not email in format or selling cialis that crammed my spam, but email that’s casually made---ok an example is when I was a member of a dating site before, I always received this random email and even if I don’t like the guys I still reply knowing they put an effort to it and its rude not to answer.  I end up closing my account later due to so many unanswered emails.

Ok going back to my silly idea, I just been introduce to twitter and to my surprise people follow me instantaneously, flattered and then my habit kick in, I decided to follow them as well.  So out of the blue I kinda thought of putting a name to my compulsion, TWITTERFLY EFFECT, it’s loosely based on the original idea which is chilling so this is the fun part; I even put a format photo out of it.

TV: Will & Grace ( DVD )

Well here’s a part of my blog where I recommend something, either a book ( if I’m not lazy to read ) but mostly I would probably recommend series where it involves watching, TV, MOVIES or MUSIC since it also involves relaxation, LOL.

I so love comedy series, I’m a big fan of SEX and the CITY ( 4 ) and FRIENDS ( 2 ) (the number after the series is the number of times I watch it on DVD) but nothing last forever so these series ended, another comedy series that I love is WILL & GRACE, I wasn’t able to catch its telecast before cause match airing isn’t available like nowadays ( thanks to ETC ), I catch it from time to time before and the laugh was nonstop.

MY CHRISTMAS

Well since November already bid farewell and December just step in, I think I should blog about Christmas, arguably the best holiday as the song sings it “it’s the most wonderful time of the year”.  Well since it’s my first blog about Christmas I should open up about my Christmas experience and of course our local tradition.

I remember most of my childhood Christmas with mostly tradition, “Misa De Gallo” or night church (most likely morning church that commence at 4am), when you finish the 9 consecutive night mass you can make a wish as part of the tradition, well nothing of my wishes happen but I still do the custom, it feels good to be part of something.  There’s also the “Noche Buena” where family share feast on Christmas Eve, it’s more like “Thanksgiving” but happen a day before Christmas.  Opening of gifts when the clock ticks 12 midnight and see everyone’s excitement and smile seeing their gifts.  And in the morning children visiting their God Mother and God Father, for their share of love (money or gifts).  And a recent tradition are Holiday Movies where the showing starts Christmas Day and only local movies are playing, it’s the time of the year where movies rake in more money, holiday money to be specific.

It all seems to be traditional and circumstantially pattern, but that’s my Christmas and that what makes me love this holiday.

Well 22 days more and its CHRISTMAS, share love more than of anything…

WORLD AIDS DAY - December 01, 2012

This year I realize the reality of AIDS, an old classmate of mine died of AIDS a few months ago and a common friend is in medication for HIV, the stigma and fear is definitely real in my part but the lesson is there, learning it through their conditions, SAFE SEX and information is a huge part in combating this disease.

From last year 2011 to 2015, WHO (World AIDS Day) will have its theme:

GETTING TO ZERO

ZERO new HIV infections

ZERO discrimination

ZERO AIDS related deaths

This vision would be possible if we spread knowledge one friend to another…
